NATURE HUNT

An AR Scavenger Hunt by Shelby Kerbs

Nature Hunt is an augmented reality (AR) scavenger hunt. Inspired by a love for local plants and the prairie landscape, the project invites users to uncover native Saskatchewan perennials hidden under the snow in Regina’s Victoria Park. Using the Hoverlay app, participants explore the park, discover illustrated plants, and learn fun facts, highlighting the absence of native flora in urban spaces. I blended creativity, design, and AR technology to help Saskatchewanians reconnect with the beauty of their local environment.

ABOUT SHELBY

I’m a Creative Technologies graduate whose work blends digital collage, illustration, and interactive media. Influenced by surrealism and expressionism, I merge human presence with nature through organic forms, plants, and quiet symbolism. Through abstraction and layered visuals, I explore emotion, environment, and storytelling across AR experiences, printed works, and illustrations, guided by a passion for graphic design, nature, and expressive visuals.
