Ligaya is an augmented reality (AR) project that addresses immigration and cultural loss,

focusing on the Philippines. Ligaya is a replication of a Philippines street, where spectators are encouraged to walk around and interact with Filipino culture. There are seven artifacts, and each one is tied to a specific story from my childhood or a family member’s experience – audio recordings are available in English or Tagalog. Since Ligaya is accessible anywhere through Hoverlay, anyone can integrate Filipino culture into a Canadian space, strengthening the connection between the two in an AR experience.
