LET'S GO FAR!

An augmented reality experience on the Dr Lloyd Barber Academic Green
and at the College Avenue Campus

Let’s go fAR! is an AR experience in celebration of the University of Regina's 50th anniversary. The project is collaboratively created by Samantha Liamzon, Shaira Castillo, Dr. Evie Johnny Ruddy, and Dr. Charity Marsh. On the Academic Green, you can scratch records on digital DJ turntables, test your knowledge on bat trivia, place a 160-foot carillon on the Green, and activate stories about the old Students’ Union Building, the ta-tawâw Student Centre’s annual tipi raising competition, the Archer Library, and the U of R herbarium.

Many thanks to Archives and Special Collections at the Dr John Archer Library for providing archival material, the 50th Anniversary Committee for funding support, Siobhan Cunningham, and everyone who shared stories, including John Bird, Dr. Trish Elliott, Dr. Mel Hart, and Dr. Mark Brigham.

At the College Avenue Campus, you can learn about the frog sculpture, test your knowledge on the history of the U of R, and experience a digital archive of performances at Darke Hall.
